Meet Maria

As a mom of two and an SLP with ten years of pediatric experience, Maria understands how to meet kids where they are. She knows that each child’s individual motivation is the key to unlock their communication and learning potential. Maria’s sessions are fun, engaging, and highly individualized to provide the unique combination of support and challenge to result in progress that feels natural and lasts. She loves getting to know children and their families, and she is passionate about making them feel cared for, understood, and valued.

Maria received her Master’s of Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Alabama after receiving a Bachelor’s in both Communication Sciences & Disorders and music. She specializes in literacy and has extensive training in the Orton-Gillingham approach as well as in the Lindamood-Bell and Wilson programs. Maria also has experience and training in selective mutism, fluency, early intervention, speech-sound disorders, autism, and attention deficit disorders. She has worked alongside occupational therapists, feeding therapists, and physical therapists, and she regularly incorporates elements of these professions into her practice.

In her free time, Maria loves getting outside with her kids and her wonderful husband, spontaneous baking projects, and playing strategy board games with friends. She is also an avid musician and plays oboe and English horn in several orchestras in the Seattle area. Ask her about upcoming concerts if you are interested in attending!
